I built a Stryke HE 15 dual sub with 6 15" passive speakers 5-6 years ago. I think I bought the box and speakers from John Janowitz out of Green Bay. The box is massive and must weigh 250+ pounds. I feed it with a Crown K2 amp and I believe it's wired at 2 ohm's and delivers between 3-4,000 watts.

Once a year I make sure all the screws on all 8 speakers are tight.

How does this sub compare to the new ones out? It still rocks my house and I see no need to replace it unless there are newer drivers out that are a lot better and resonable in price. I use it just for H.T. I use a Paradigm Servo 15when I just listen to music.

Thanks a lot.

John is still pretty active on these forums. He may have the specs still. If you know their exact model numbers you could do a search on google and probably find the specs.

My box is 36x24x22, has 6 15" passive radiators and two 15" HE 15 drivers. When I bought these drivers, I believe they were considered about as good as you can get. This thing still rocks the house with a Crown K2 amp and a Behringer Feedback Destroyer Pro for e.q.

I wonder if the 2 drivers and 6 passive radiators are still air tight. How would I measure that.

If I remember right, John J. said this dual HE 15 had the power of 6-7 Paradigm Servo 15's corner loaded. I wonder how it compares top the best subwoofers of today?

Your sub would still be in the top 1% (or so) of all the commercial HT offerings. I would be surprised if you have any headroom problems at all. To "better' your sub, you would have to spend a significant amount of money.

I have two of them myself. If you're really disappointed your house is still standing, I suppose you could find some way to upgrade.
