I posted a thread about a couple o projectors I own the most recent one, a sanyo PLC-FX20 witch I thought had a dead pixel in the lower portion of the screen( the black bars when playing anamorphic DVDs) So I was ready to return this PJ when I decided to test my old Mitsubishi X400, same problem: then I hooked up my DVD player and bingo the problem was gone.

My question is, can a video card from a HTPC create this problem?

Has anybody seen a similar problem?

Ps. those PJ are both LCD/XGA and hook up through DVI's to the HTPC and the apperently stuck pixel appears white in color on the screen and disapear when there is no sgnal.

Normally I would have said no, has to be the projector. Have you tried a different resolution and seen if it still shows up?


Weird, semi-related story:

My friend once had this pixel stuck on his desktop with Win2k. There was no background or pattern set to the desktop, there was just always this black pixel. We both played around and could not get rid of it. Reformatting made it go away though.
