stuck pixel on new projector

Purchased the NEC vt45 from dell.com a little over a month ago. Pretty sure it was there the first time I turned it on, but there is a blue pixel that stays on all the time. I can only see it when watching widescreen material. If it is computer display or 4:3 then I cant see it. Is something like this covered under warranty or is this something I have to live with? For the record, I am pretty sure the blue pixel was there the first time I watched something in widescreen.

Depends on how loud you complain to NEC they may fix/swap it for you. 1 dead pixel is considered within spec so they may not fix it. However, since it's for HT and if it's in center and distracting, they may. Best bet is to call NEC cust. service and ask. Forget Dell as they won't swap it for sure. Dell cust. service is pretty long-winded and worthless, IMHO.

Actually it is for our training room at work. But it is used more for HT than for training ;) Can they actually fix the dead pixel? It is a little off center and about half way up a 2.35:1 border on the top.
I saw a thread on this forum by tahustvedt yesterday where he said he applied a small piece of yellow tape to the screen at the spot where he had a stuck blue pixel. He was very pleasntly surprised at how well it worked. Search for his name and you'll see a description of what he did.
I had the ole dead pixel problem (red) with my Sanyo pj and they did fix it with some phone calls and complaining. You have to tell them its for HT though. They can't fix it....they must replace the lcd panels. I wouldn't live with it if I didn't have to...
Would something like this work? :)

LOL

I'm gonna try that on my projector now and see if I can induce an epileptic attack. :)

HEY, don't do that without some kind of warning!

Now all I can hear is a Black Sabbath track repeating over and over in my head.
I just woke up from a fit! Did I miss anything?
Yeah, you wouldn't believe it ! All of the Mike's got their Marantz's running perfectly and have signed up to do free commercials for Marantz for the rest of the year!
