I saw an Apple 30inch LCD yesterday at the Apple store in Corte Madera, California and I have to say it was absolutely stunning. I had the same kind of take your breath away as the first time I saw a 63 inch Plasma. The first time I saw the a 63 inch Samsung, I thought to myself, "now that is what I am talking about."

There was something just so right about the Apple 30. Not only does it have great image quality but the Aluminum bezel is also great. The reason the 30 inch is so right is because you can open three Safari browser pages side by side and elongate them from the top of the screen to the bottom (like three columns) and if you open them on pages like CNN or The New York Times the screen is so tall and it displays so much data that you can see all the info on the page without scrolling...this makes it seem like you are looking at a real newspaper. Also, in Microsoft Word, it makes looking at a two page document so easy to read and see.

For the first time we have a monitor that gives you more room than you need. No more confinement. I am certain that within 5-7 years these panels will be the standard the way a 17 LCD is today. I know Apple is innovating like crazy with product like the ipod, but I must say as impressive as the ipod is, I am much, much more impressed with the 30 inch LCD.

I am kind of tired with separate CPU boxes.

Actually, Ultra, Super, Triple, Double Secret Probation Cool--Squared!!! And then some!!!

I would bet that if there is any one product that everyone in the forum would look at and have their jaw drop it would be the 30 Apple. I think it would probably be the only thing that every member of the forum would agree is stunning. (Well, maybe also the Samsung 63 as well?)

Trust me: If ever there was a monitor you did not want to have a permanent CPU hooked up to the 30 Apple LCD would be it.

Separate CPU boxes are good because they are much, much faster than any iMac and it gives the 30 inch LCD a much longer life because you can upgrade CPUs. Not to mention, with a seperate CPU you can hook up TWO 30inch Apples for an extended desktop. Imaginge that!?! 4.2 simaltaneously firing pixels in symphony. (that is 12.6 seperate subpixel elements potentially changing sixty times a second. Wow!!!)

Plus the 30 inch requires a special special video card that has 256MB of VRAM. The monitor just flies. If you think about it, there are still off the shelf computers made today that don't even have 256MB of regular RAM. Not so long ago 32MB of VRAM was considered exotic.

My fellow AVS forum members, you have got to see this thing!!! It is mesmerizing and it will blow your mind!!! Steve Jobs, who probably, like many of us, is hard to impress, said that when he first saw the 30LCD that he could not talk for a minute because he was so blown away. Even though I saw many photos in advance, it had the same effect on me. I knew I was seeing the future. Just Mind-boggling!!!
