I am getting "stutter" problems after I upgraded the disk in my 3060 to a Maxtor 120gig 7200rpm drive. I did the full low level format and extensive disk tests. I did not turn on AM, but left it at the default 'performance' setting. I used the large cluster option in RTVPATCH with a downloaded image.

The playback will just stop for a second or two every once in awhile and then continue. Sometimes from where it left off and sometimes it seems to skip a couple of seconds. My signal source is clean, so I know it's not that problem.

Any idea as to what the problem could be? I'd hate to have to do a low level format again, but I will if I have to. I wouldn't think that would fix it, since that's what I did in the first place.....

I had freezing and video/audio out-of-sync issues after an upgrade. Then I disabled SPINDOWN from the clawfoot portal, and all was good again. There is much debate on this topic - but it has definately worked for some, including me.

BTW, as I understand it, SPINDOWN is defaulted on for pre-4K models, and off for 4 & 5Ks.
