Precisely speaking, ffdshow can't decode DTS-HD MA, it decodes only core DTS. I haven't seen stuttering. Isn't it a splitter issue?

What splitter are you using? LAV Splitter is recommended. Avoid Haali.

Yup, haali has issues with DTS-HD bitstreaming. LAV Audio + LAV Splitters are the way to go.

I'm not sure what splitter I'm using. I guess it must be the one built into MPC HC; the only other things I'm running are ffdshow, core avc, and madvr.

I guess I'll try LAV.

The current LAV Filter version with installer overrides the registry key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT(\\Wow6432Node)\\Media Type\\Extensions\\.mkv (or whatever file extension Haali/LAV Splitter supports, e.g. m2ts). Wow6432Node is for the 64-bit OS. So you don't have to uninstall Haali. (However if you reinstall Haali, the key will be overridden again.)

As for MPC-HC, disable (i.e. uncheck) the internal splitter(s). Then the splitter in the above registry key will be used.
