I'm trying to decide on a sub, and I'm stuck on a few choices. Here's the background for the choices:


1. Budget - around $700, but can go up another $100 if really, really worth it.


2. Use - Movies/TV only. No music.


3. Room - 11' wide x 15' deep x 12' high (about 2000 cubic feet).


4. Size - not really a factor.


5. Look - plain black box is fine.


6. Number of Subs - would prefer just one.


I'm really wanting something clean that will thump. For example, I'd really love to feel each tremor in the T-Rex scene of Jurassic Park.


Choices are narrowed to:


1. HSU VTF-2MK

2. Emotiva Ultra Sub 12

3. Epik Legend

Agreed: Get HSU VTF-MK4, or Rythmik FV12. If you can save more then

can get HSU VTF-15" or Epik Empire!.

I'd go for the VTF3 mk3, which is on sale right now. The mk4 will have more features, but it won't have more output than the mk3. A VTF3 mk3 will cost a tad over 700 shipped but it will definitely thump, more so than the other subs you listed.

For 100% movies, I would look at ported only to get the most slam. HSU is good in that price range.
