I picked up a McIntosh MC2200 at a local garage sale and it works great. I thinking I might use this for a Sub woofer amp. I'm building a Sono-Tube sub woofer and plan the bridge the amp to 400 watts. Is this amp over kill since the range is 20hz to 20khz? Would I be better off buying a subamp?

Thanks,

That's a very stout amp which will handle low impedence loads when bridged to mono, however if it's in good shape you could probably get $800-$1000 for it on Audiogon. You don't need that good of an amp for sub use but if you like it and it looks good in the rack, what the hey!
