OK, I have bought (2) RTi8, (2) RTi6, and a CSi5 setup. It will be powered by an Onkyo NR626. The room is about 1700 cu. ft. I am considering the svs pb1000, the hsu stf2, and the hsu vtf mk2. O will watch 75% movies, 20% sports, and 10% classic rock. Which do you think will suit the room best. Max dollar allowed is 600 installed. Thanks for the help.

It's probably hard to do better than this for $600 or less.

I am kind of leaning toward the VTF-2.4 since it is downfiring and I have kids that will be playing in there. Is there a real difference in sound between downfiring and out firing? Thanks for the suggestions!

Downfiring can help mask harmonics and help reduce localization with higher crossover settings...other then that there is not a dig differencd between driver orientation on a subwoofere since frequencies below 100hz are omni-directional.
