This may raise some eye brows but here goes. To earn WAF I want to hide my rather large Velodyne CT120. The family room is right above a basement so I thought I could snake the sub output to the basement and put it on the top shelf of a lumber shelving system I built down there for storage. Essentially it s only going to be 4' lower then it was before (same spot in the room but on a shelf in the basement up by the ceiling instead of on the floor in the room). Separating the sub from the room is the basement ceiling and (1/2" drywall) + some R19 insulation + 1" pine t&g flooring (no subfloor - old Victorian construction)
Is this going to work? am i going to lose some low freq at low volume movie watching?
