Thanks in advance for all the great info on this site.

I should be pulling the trigger on one of the two B&W 5.1 speaker options below. Any sub recommendations are welcomed. A Pioneer 56txi will power the system and my room is 18x18 with standard 8’ ceilings.

80% HT and 20% Music.

Option #1

CM6 fronts

CMC center

CM2 surrounds

Option #2

703 fronts

HTM7 center

CM2 surrounds

Maybe a B&W sub or SVS, or maybe a Velodyne? Price is flexible.

I'd definitely skip the B&W sub, much better stuff out there for the same, or less money

Let me take a kick at the dead horse. skip the B&W sub. I have one and am not impressed with it. Especially for HT.

DD's are an excellent option , hill blend well and can help "tame" a room.

I have been looking at recently changing my own system and the two front 3 speaker options are on my short list...I was going to do dm6's to the side and match bookshelf rears to the mains for 7.1......cm2's or 705's

Do yourself a favor and either go seperates or pick a non-current limiting receiver , the B&W's will love the extra juice.

The DD series is fantastic! I am not a fan of the DD-10 (unless it is essential to fit in a spot or your wife rules the house)!

There is no such thing as too fast of a sub (or too much base as they have volume knobs). Make sure the sub goes down to a good 22HZ (-3db) and 20HZ is even better. Some of the subs on your list do NOT have flat frequency responses. I need to be "politically correct" so do your own looking or PM me.

If you decide Velo you won't regret it! If your room does not have a lot of standing waves, save a buck and go HGSX but the DD series have +3db (50%) more output per size (15" to 15" for example) but don't come in black gloss!

One of the most important component of a GREAT theater is ample, tight, F-A-S-T base. No substitute!

A list of speakers is fine. What is missing is what you want this sub to do.Are you looking for a real HT sub that will do 120db+.If not then The velodyne would do.You can do a little homework after you set up everything.Pick up an SPL meter and see how loud you want it to go.If you listen no louder than 85-90db then the one box sub will do.If you want to be ,"in the sub on U-571" then DIY is the way to go.

Multiple drivers hands down. The IB guys will tell you that.If DIY is not your bag then good luck hunting.

I just received my SVS PCi-20-39 couple of days ago. It's now sitting in a corner of my living room that's 11.5 ft wide, 30 ft. long, and 8 ft high. The cubic footage is probably a little bigger than yours. I wish I got the "+" version, but can the "i" version fill up the room with plenty of bass, definitly. I still have a good month and a couple weeks left to decide whether to exchange it for the "+" version or not. Like the people said above, what's more important is what YOU want your sub to be able to do. Find out what's the max volume you want to listen your speakers at and then come back for a recommendation.
