I have an Onkyo 604. Should the subwoofer be receiving a signal if the signal to the receiver is Dolby 2.0 and I have the receiver set to output in one of the PLII modes? I'm watching the MHD channel in Dolby 2.0 and the sub is not working.

if you are using one of the PLII modes the sub should be getting a signal (if there is any sound below your xover point in the soundtrack to begin with)


whats your receiver xover set at?

The sub x-over is 80 Hz. I used the automatic setup and it set the set the fronts to full (Kef C55's) and the surrounds to 120 Hz (Omnisats). The sub crossover is all the way up (H-100)

what's the gain on the sub?


when the setting for fronts is FULL is the sub output set to both, or just mains?


perhaps you can try setting the fronts to small for a test, and see if the sub is working


if the KEFs go below 80Hz...

I fiddled with the settings manually and got a reasonable response from the sub. I have no idea whay to Audessy setup wasn't working. Thanks for the help.
