Hey all, I'm new to this forum. I am about to trade in my old **** sub for one of the following used subs available at hawthorne stereo here in Seattle...any advice on the following would be appreciated. thanks.

8"
Martin Logan Dynamo 8" $239
Jamo SW 400E 8" $219

10"

Polk PSW-350 $219
Boston Acoustics SW-10 $219

a little more info... used probably 60% for music (nearly entirely analogue) and 40% for movies. Tannoy Mercury M5s and Center, Boston A70's used as surrounds/additional stereo for music and Definative Audio Theater Pro rears. Medium sized room with carpet and vaulted ceilings.

Seems to me you are zero out of four in your selections. If you're planning on spending a couple hundred bucks or so, I'd look at the following 12-inch driver subs:

thanks for the advice...I will look into these options for sure. I have some stuff to trade in ... hence my list containing things I can get cheap at my local store.

I owned the Martin logan Dynamo sub in the past and a "dynamo" it is not...more like a dud!

Yeah, that list is an o-fer. If you can't get your money back, use your credit for something else, or sell it to someone who can use it. The dsrussel suggestions will give you much better bang for your buck in that price range!
