Subs completed!

I want to thank smcmillan2, Zarkoff500, and johnson636 for answering my questions about building a pair of passive subs. I saw smcmillan2 twins build, and copied them. I used a pair of ultimax 12" drivers and a crown cdi 1000 (I found on Craigslist) to power them. My father-in-law has an excellent shop and helped me along the way. I ran into a little bit of trouble where the t-nuts spun in the mdf and also three of the threaded inserts from parts express stripped. I ended up gluing pieces of plywood behind the driver and using screws to mount the subs. I'll attach some photos. I'm very happy with the finished product! They are heavy and powerful, they just bring a smile to my face!
I also bought a Panasonic projector. It weighs 19.2 pounds. Does anyone have a recommendation for a low profile projector mount that can handle that much weight, a 25 - 30 foot fibre optic hdmi cable, and an hdmi switcher?

Thanks again for all your help!

I use the DTECH brand. I'm running 4K at 60hz with it. Cheap and it works!

They make them up to 300ft or whatnot...

This one looks fairly low profile:

I use the Dayton one on PE, but it's not super low profile...

Those look nice and you are welcome! I am glad your build turned out well, aside from the tnuts and bolts. FWIW, I use the 6 prong t nuts (https://www.parts-express.com/10-32-deluxe-6-prong-t-nuts-50-pcs--081-1088) and have never had one fail. They seem to hold pretty well but you can't go wrong with some hard wood backers.

The most important question though, is how are you liking them? What did you tune the boxes to?
You did a great job on the subs, I think they look awesome in your space! If you happen to open them up again, do yourself a favor and put a short screw in one of each of the T-nut notches to keep them from spinning in the future.
Nice work! Now you’re going to have to change your name to UsedToNeedbetterbass

Thank you for the compliments on the subs. I’m really happy with them. They have a net internal volume of 4 cubic feet (give or take a little) and are tuned to 20Hz. They replaced 2 Polk audio psw 110. Which only have a 50 watt amp. The difference is incredible. I’m really enjoying them. (I’ll watch a bad movie if I think it has good bass). Next step is to set up the projector, and then think about replacing the front left, center, and right speakers! Also I may buy a umik 1 as the crown amp has a built in dsp. (time to learn about REW and how to take room measurements)

Subs look great....nice work all the way around!

REW as a next step is a great idea, and learning how to use it and apply effective EQ, will really help your subs deliver their best.

Regarding your projector mount ?, Chief makes some excellent low profile mounts.....robust, good looking, easy to install: https://www.legrandav.com/products/chief
I went into my local electronics store looking for a 25’ fibre optic HDMI cable, just to see what they had and for how much. The salesman said that was completely unnecessary, that a regular 18gb/s copper cable would be fine for that distance. I was under the impression that a long run like that could damage the HDMI out on my receiver. Is he wrong? Thanks in advance.
P.s the chief projector mounts look sturdy and well made!
FTR and future reference

twisted T-nuts in either MDF or ply wood

5 minute epoxy and and anti-twist / push-out screw

chase the threads and check for a smooth bolt fit
