[El Goosemaster]

I am in a bind as to which one to get.


On one hand I have the Mirage PS-12-180 Subwoofer, which is a 12in 180watt older sub and then a newer athena AS-P400 which is 10in and 100Watts but I have actually found favorable reviews..actually nothing but.


So does anyone have any info that could help me make a better purchase.

Mirage is $250 used in good condition and Athena is $290 brand new.


Some other info you should know. I mostly enjoy listening to music, so a fast sub is in my best interest. I frequently indulge in movies, but once again the deepest bass of all is not my priority although a welcomed trait.

That is why I was set on the athena, because it supposed a very musical sub but can still dish out the ~27-30hz.

I'll bet the reason you haven't gotten responses is that most folks in this forum know the higher end subwoofers better than the $250/300 ones.


I'm generalizing, but most folks in this forum probably consider "value" subs more in the $500-600 range, with most having much more expensive ones.


I'm not familiar with either of the models you mentioned, ,sorry.
