Hi,
I have been having a problem with the subwoofer I purchased an Episode ES-SUB-CUB8-110.
If I am watching TV or movies that have low bass soundtracks etc.. the sub makes a vibrating distorted sound.. the only way to stop this is to turn the volume of the sub down below 50% so that it barely is hearable. This doesn't seem to matter what I have the crossover freq set at. Is it possible this sub isn't powerful enough for my setup?
I have an onkyo SR505 receiver a pair of Bose 301's and a JBL S center speaker. My room is 26x25 with 9 ft ceilings. I used the Onkyo audyssey with their microphone to setup the levels. When I listen to music or movies I set the Receiver volume around 45-50 to be at a good listening volume.
If this is an underpowered sub, what sub would you recommend? I listen 50/50 to movies and music and want the bass to be tighter not just boomy.
Thanks,
Dan
