Hello everyone! I currently have a Boston Acoustics PV1000 powered sub. I really like the unit, but there is one major problem....since it is a down firing sub with a huge amp for a 10" driver, the sub rattles like crazy when levels get high in movie soundtracks. The room in which it is located is all hardwood floor. I have added the rubber pads to the feet, but it still shakes when it gets too loud. Does anyone have any suggestions for alleviating this problem? Do I need to get a different sub that is rear or front firing, such as a Velodyne HGS-15?

I have a cement block wrapped in fabric sitting on top of my sub. My sub didn't rattle, it just vibrated a lot. My reasoning was that I wanted energy transferred to the air instead of being used up moving the sub cabinet, but I don't know whether there's any real advantage in using the weight.
