Hi there,
I just got a new subwoofer, KLH ASW12-200B. It was bought used and I'm having trouble getting it to output enough sound. For example if I play the test tone I can barely hear it if I put my ear to the woofer. Now if I put the volume up on my receiver, Sony STR DH520, it sounds OK but at lower volumes I don't notice it. All of this is with the gain on the subwoofer at maximum, the receiver subwoofer level at max and the bass and treble settings at max. I have to turn the receiver up to 30 on the volume dial to really feel and notice the sub, but I have no idea how many dB that is...
I've tried every connection except for the speaker wire terminals, all sounds the same, I've also tried using a Y-splitter and it didn't change anything. The speakers are set to small and the subwoofer is enabled in my receiver.
I had been using a small 6,5" sony sub before and I could hear it and feel the bass from it with out having to crank everything to the highest settings.
Also here is a photo of the living room layout if that helps at all and of the back of the subwoofer.
All help is appreciated
