My Klipsch Subwoofer has been shutting off like it's getting too much power when I gave the sound turned up loud but not crazy and when a heavy bass moment hits like in a transformers movie. I'm running a marantz 6011 which has powered it just fine. It's a Klipsch 12". Never done this before not sure why now. Any suggestions, gain adjustment? Thx

So the Klipsch is a passive sub being powered by the Marantz receiver? What model Klipsch sub do you have?

The amp is probably going out. I would call Klipsch support via phone. Usually they will send out a model specific amp kit free of charge for the first inquiry.

It is the R112-SW.

It sounds like everyone thinks it's an amp issue. Klipsch has a part that would take care of this issue?

I'm hoping I don't need to replace the entire amp.

Yeah, that sub has it's own plate amp and is not powered by the receiver. Many have complained about faulty Klipsch amps, so it looks like you need to contact Klipsch about getting a replacement amp.

Just in case anyone was wondering. Klipsch sent me a new Subwoofer free of charge due to mine still being under warranty. Great customer service and new handles everything I throw at it with room shaking bass.

Agreed. It's the second sub to do that to me. Luckily for me the one this time had been discontinued and they sent me the new version. Hopefully upgraded will not have same issues
