I have a Yamaha Home Theater A/V receiver (HTR 5560), with 3 front and 3 back speakers, plus a subwoofer. I recently noticed that the subwoofer power indicator light turns from green (ON) to red (the woofer essentally goes into standby, and no sound comes out). All the other speakers continue to finction properly. It sometimes comes back on by itself, which might indicate overheating problem. Could it possibly be due to some intermittent input? I was told that this woofer is designed to turn itself off if it receives no input.

Has anyone else seen it? What can I do?

Try decreasing the main volume a little on it and increasing the channel level on the audio processor some.


It could also be going into protect I suppose which would mean a component failure in the powered sub itself.
