I just got off the phone with Lisa and she had great news!! Apparently Mr. Littman from Pioneer (Executive) had contacted Active Light (Pio distributer) and agreed to replace my 433cmx due to dead/stuck pixels. They are shipping a brand new and pre tested unit out this Thursday. I would like to thank Mr. Littman and Active Light for their decision. I am extremely overjoyed now and can't wait for the new unit! Special thanks go out to Lisa from PlasmaExtreme.us. She stood by me and her customers and did not waiver in the heat of battle. She had the courage to fight for a customer's right and did what she knows how to do best, customer service. I can't thank her enough. The internet is such a powerful tool. Thanks again for all the comments on my previous threads.

Excellent! Do you still have possesion of the original, so you could watch BB last night? It looked great in HD (IMHO).

Lisa, you can recall the Tomahawk cruise missle you had targeted at Pioneer...

I guess the bigger question (which maybe isn't open for public discussion) is whether Lisa reached some sort of understanding with Pioneer.

I just want to say that I am THRILLED beyond belief that this happened and I am very happy today. It is not a perfect plasma world (yet) but I believe if everyone works together it can be. We all know there are things that need to be changed and it is very small baby step torwards those changes being implemented.

Does it mean this will happen all the time?

I do not honestly know and I do not reccomend approaching things the way I did, and I honestly cannot say that my approach had a huge bearing on this particular situation. Maxx being proactive by writing letters and working with tech support helped, he didn't look to me to do it all and he did not once EVER take it out on me and THAT was phenominal. THANK YOU MAXX Lori thanks you too! :D

The AVS forum had a HUGE positve impact on everything. THANK YOU a MILLION TIMES!

The icing on the cake here IS ACTIVELIGHT, they are Pioneers ( excuse the pun) of an example of how good business should be conducted. ( and they put up with me everyday) so you know they deserve a medal. ;) THANK YOU! ;) ;) ;) ACTIVELIGHT ROCKS!!!!!!

HAHA DJS-Without my missle it means I have to smack you..you know that don't you?? ;) ;)

Thanks to EVERYONE for the incredable support! Have a great night!

This kind of resolution -- no pun intended -- is quite satisfying. The question is this: Why does dealing with Pioneer require the equivalent of pulling teeth?

Happy, but concerned.

Jym,

Im not exactly sure of the dead/stuck pixel count because it seemed like the stuck green pixels were either bleeding over to the adjacent ones or the adjacent ones were in fact stuck as well. I'd estimate that I had between 4-6 stuck green ones and 1-2 stuck pink ones.

FYI, my 'public service announcement' regarding PE & Pio was pulled as it was viewed as an advertisement for PE. Understandable, I guess.

I'll wave my PlasmaExtreme flag indoors with the lights off.:D

That thread was perfectly alright. This forum (not AVS, but Plasma and LCD..) has become very hard to use. The moderator seem a bit over zealous in his duties. Seems very unproductive to delete entire thread.

Anyway that thread contained some useful information and a question I had that did not get answered. Now I forgot what I wanted to know anyway. Guess I need a few more smacks upside the head to wake me up today.

Yeah, sometimes it's a bit hard to tell when you're stepping over the line. But we're here by the grace of Alan & David, so I'm certainly not going to argue. And Laurence was kind enough to PM me so I wouldn't scratch my remaining hair off, wondering where my thread went.

Send email to Lisa. She'd be happy to add you to her 'in need of smacking' list. :D

:::lisa smacks Joe::::

Joe,

I answered you last night..but I cannot remember exactly what I said, however I agreed with you 10 pixels is too much. You said another etailer quoted 95 percent of good units. 5 percent with 4-5 pixels...I think. You asked if this was on target. I think it is for the people who notice them, but keep in mind there are people out there who do not know they have them so the numbers may be a little off and that is just my opionion.

there was recently posted a link to an ISO standard for acceptance/rejection based on stuck/ dead pixels on new plasma displays

- the standards seemed reasonable and understood by the industry

if the major plasma distributors would sign up to such a standard, and provide a remedy for new displays that do not conform to these standards, then that would provide for a baseline we could all work to

as it is now, you are forced to make emotional pleas on the AVS forum to get satisfaction for marginal problems: not acceptable

for plasmas displays that are so costly, we are entitled to expect some standard to judge acceptance/rejection criteria; this would help the manufacturer/distributor/dealer/customer by having a single standard
