Custom resolutions work, except for interlaced resolutions. I did get interlaced resolutions to work for the desktop only, with the previous official 3201's (I think thats the driver number). DVD playback however, did not work, as only the upper 2/3 of the image displayed. The "refresh custom timing" binding did not help much, as the image would keep reverting back to the 2/3 mode after a second or two.
Then how do you play DVDs? WinDVD, PowerDVD or, simply switch the OS?
I have great experiences with WinDVD 2.3 upgraded to 2.6. And interestingly, its PQ is better than ATI Player 4.1 in Windows 98se. Everything regarding PQ in Win2k seems better than those of 98se and reading posts here makes me wonder why people here never said a word of this phenomenon.
