Hello, I'm planning to purchase a new 7.1 or 7.2 A/V receiver under $800, I've been looking at these and they all seem decent:

- Pioneer VSX-33/SC-35

- Onkyo TX-NR609

- Marantz SR5006

Which one of these would be the best replacement receiver?

Any others I should consider?

thanks!

If you use Audyssey then you can scrap the 609 as it uses a much lower version 2EQ and rather consider the 809 instead which has been on weekend sale at Newegg at below your budget. The 6005 uses the same MultEQ XT as does the 3808. What about the Denon 3311CI or 3312CI both of which also use MultEQ XT? Also, Costco has the SC-35 on sale now as well just under your budget. Depends on whether you want to make a switch from Audyssey to MCAAC. You also might want to try to get a Denon 4310CI on clearance as it was the successor to the 3808CI.

I think you meant the Marantz 5006 instead of the 6005. The 6005 has MultEQ but no XT.

That's a great price on an incredible receiver. If it's coming with a full warranty, I wouldn't hesitate!

I was able to get it for $677 shipped w/FULL 2yr warranty!

I'm stoked!
