I am looking for a new LCD set with these features ...
  • 32" (overall size limitation)
  • 720p (cost limitation
    )
  • QAM Tuner
  • CableCARD
  • TV Guide/EPG

Anyone have any suggestions as to a make/model???

I did a search, and found several "hits", but all those

seem to be 2+ year old models, that are now discontinued.

For examples the Sharp 32D7U or the Toshiba 32HL95.

Did I miss the boat? Did all the manufacturers who made

LCD sets with these features, all stop for some reason?

Bump with comment...

I did some more searching, and stumbled upon the Hitachi 32HLX99. It has what I want, including CableCard support and TV Guide On Screen. I thought it was only announced about 6 or so months ago. Now, I see that Hitachi has announced their new 2007 models 32H201 and 32T301. No feature details on those two yet, but the pessimist in me fears that once again, they will contain less features (Cablecard gone and TV Guide gone???).

Why is there this general trend for less features each model year?

Thanks for the lead, Ron. That set does, indeed, have all the features I am looking for. Unfortunately, I am too slow, and that website now says "In Stock Status: This item not available".

I am still at a loss as to why the newer models keep coming out with fewer and fewer features. I would think that everyone would want things like a QAM/CC tuner on a HDTV set.

How about 2005 yr model Toshiba or Sharp?

It's pretty rare to find 2006 32" with cable card.

I have Toshiba 37HLX95 (2005 model) in my bedroom and happy with it.

It's 37", 720P/1080I, QAM, CableCard, TV Guide + Built in DVD Player.

They also had 32HLX95, same as above, except 32".

Also 27HLV95, 27", 720P/1080I, QAM, CableCard, TV Guide + Built in DVD Player.

I saw some 2005 Sharp models 720P/1080I, QAM, CableCard, but no TV Guide, no DVD player.

My 2cents.
