I'm want to convert my LP collection to digital. My existing set up is:
Tonearm: Rega RB300
Turrntable: Rega Planar 3
Cartridge: Rega Elys
Phono Section: Adcom GFP-565 Preamplfier
Sound Card: Auzentech Meridian 7.1
PC: Intel Q9650 3.0g quad-core on ASUS X48 M/B
With this setup, I would simply plug the GFP-565 into the line in on the sound card and record away using Roxio Creator 2009 and Bias Sound Soap. Is there alternative hardware on the pre-amp or A-to-D conversion side that would provide a SIGNIFICANT improvement for $200-300? There is the PreSonus Inspire 1394 Audio Interface box, but I don't know if that would provide much (or any) improvement over the Adcom/Meridian combo.
