I need advice for a good Heatsink/Fan to use with a Thoroughbread-B AthlonXP 2400+. Low noise is the priority here, but I would like to strike a reasonable balance between noise level and performance. I intend to run this CPU on an ASUS A7N8X and using its ability to unlock the CPU multiplier run it at an elevated FSB speed. This is where I am expecting most of my extra performance to come from, but a little bit of an overclock wouldn't hurt. :)

Check out SilentPC review of Socket A HSF . Thermalright SLK-800 coupled with a low speed panaflo fan beat Zalman, Swiftech, and thermalrights own ax7. No surprise, the slk-800 gets high marks on other review sites as well.

The review indicates that the Zalman clip may have been defective. In a more recent roundup of p4HSF, the Zalman came out on top (It didn't compete with the slk-800, since there is no p4 varient of it yet)
