Hi,

I am in the porcess of purchasing a new HT system. I will be buying a new projector and would like a new receiver which I can use for switching video. (I do not want to have to reach up to the ceiling to plug and unplug components. I would like a machine that can convert S-Video and composite video to component video.) The receivers that I have been recommended is the Denon 3803 and the HK 525. Does the HK525 offer the required switching functionality? I know that the 3803 does. Is there any other receiver that I should look at? My budget limitation is $900 at most though I would prefer to go lower.

Thank you in advance for any thoughts.

Best Regards,

JL

New Yamahas (1400 & 2400) are supposed to be able to up-convert s-video & composite to component. 2400 would be top of your price range and 1400 a couple hundred less.

I don't believe the HK 525 can do this (might want to confirm with others).
