While I understand your concern as our prised DVDs are no longer made, you should be just fine
I'd just let them be and if you have any scheduled events you should be fine. I've found the most head is generated during DVD burning so as long as you're not doing that when the temps are over a hundred, or even up to 110, you should be fine. The units should also have a cooling fan that runs off temp so if need be, the fan will start up. I guess if you had your equipment in a closed cabinet, maybe leave it open while you are gone.
You didn't say how hot you expect your media area to get with the heat off, over say 110F probably wouldn't be good for any type of recording but unless you live in a desert area I doubt things would get that warm.
