It look as if this will be released on Blu Ray, 03/09/2010. It states that it will include three of the Saints best games in their entire broadcast. However, as I read the games, it doesn't look like any postseason games are included. A bit of a bummer. I thought that I had recorded the OTA broadcast on Windows Media Center but to my dismay, it didn't record. While I will certainly pick this up, I wonder how I can get a copy of the Super Bowl broacast in HD?

Can I get a copy minus that?

If it had like the Minnesota game & the Dolphin comeback I'd buy.

This, and I'm a BIG NFL fan, I'll pass on (and I'm a BIG HD fan as well!).

That said....this coming out on DVD makes me want to vomit in my mouth a bit. They'll make a mint from all the bandwagoners.

They release these every year. Nothing new. There is the above BD but there is a DVD package that includes 3 games on a DVD (I believe). If you want the 3 games, buy the 3-disc DVD set.

Rach: I've been a Saints fan for 22 years and I've seen a few instances of Saints apparel showing up on people in the outside world - not a lot but more than the norm, which is just about none.

As I understand it, the BD will include the 3 games from the DVD set. We see a bit of Saints apparel in Houston but the bandwagon has gone nationwide.

I was on the NFLSHOP website the other day and the BD seems to be the same as the DVD. The BEST OF 2009 (? - don't remember title) 3-DVD set is available separate and also bundled with the Super Bowl DVD. I don't think the 3 games (Miami, Atlanta, one other) will be on the BD disc. Maybe they will have a 4 disc set (1 BD, 3 DVDs) but I don't see how or why they would put the 3 games onto the BD. It (S)ain't happenin!

There's also a Saints v. Vikings NFC Championship game DVD sold on NFLSHOP but be warned because Amazon.com's listing states that it is a DVD-R made 'on demand'.

I'm sure there will be a large supply of these and I'l just get it off eBay for a fraction of the cost.

I'm from Cleveland so there are Saints fans nationwide.

Hey Brian,

What would be the downside of a DVD-R of the NFC Championship game? quality? video problems? Just curious as I have thougth about getting it. I could download at the site listed above but what kind of download speed would you need to download a 4GB file? Anyone?

Not sure if there would be any downside. I just know some (including myself) want pressed discs. I don't have an answer for what download speed to select.

WHO DAT! I travelled back to NOLA to watch the game with family and friends. The game may have been in Miami, but the place to be was NOLA! 40 year Saints fan here, and this is a must have.

Does anybody know if they're planning to release a "road to the Super Bowl" 2-disc, 4-game on BD, as they did with the Steeler's?

I hate to spend money on the one game, if they're going to offer a multi-game set. I'm not interested in DVD, just BD.

Don't know but I think there is more to come from NFL Films this summer. There is an ad on this BD indicated that.

The BD is an overview of the season with highlights from every game including the playoffs and Super Bowl. So there isn't a full game replay of anything on this disk.

But it's very well done and great memento from the greatest season in Saints' history!

I started this thread and forgot to reply after I saw the BD. True, it's just an overview of the season but what a season it was. I am now reluctant to buy the 3 best games dvd as I heard the aspect ratio is not widescreen. Ridiculous.

More BD news from my favorite Saints' bulletin board - SaintsReport.com

My wife sent an e-mail to nfl films asking about any more Saints DVDs and got this response:

First of all, thanks for your feedback on the Saints Championship DVD. We had a great time making it and are so glad you are enjoying it. All of us here appreciate what this season means to Saints fans and we wanted to make the film just as memorable.

We have a forthcoming release due in stores on 6/2. It is a package of the network broadcasts of the three post-season games plus the week 13 game vs. Washington. The BluRay version has a special trivia track on the Super Bowl broadcast which I think you will enjoy.

We also will have a plethora of Saints features in the new season of NFL Films Presents on the NFL Network, when the series returns in September.

Thanks again for your feedback, if you have any other questions please let me know.
