I am incredibly eager to purchase this disc, but I couldn't hate that cover art more.
welcome to several weeks ago.

Yeah, the cover art BLOWS big time! However, since I put all my movies into a CD binder and toss the boxes in the closet, I could care less.

I do, however, appreciate that many of you collectors were hoping for better, and so I am sad for you guys at how utterly horrible that cover is.

Looks like poo. Poo, I say.

REALLY BAD...how could he approve this?!?
Do i actually care for cover art, i never understood this, this and limited collector in Tin Case, just never understood.
I just hope the Superman: The Movie cover art looks like the 2001 DVD version(as opposed to the dreadful-looking new edition) since technically that's what we're getting on HD-DVD.
That coverart looks great...

for me to poop on!

Custom covers will become popular for these very soon....just like for dvds.
Huh, I really like the cover art. What kind of art were you looking for? Examples? I am curious what the masses really want.
I don't like the lettering, but the art itself is from a poster that was used to heavily promote both SUPERMAN and SUPERMAN II on their original releases, so I don't mind the image at all.
Don't care for the artwork but this is a must buy for me. I grew up on Superman 1 & 2 and will love to have them in HD.

Agree on both points.
Does "The Richard Donner Cut" need that in your face font? Maybe I don't truly appreciate, or understand, the signficance of the Richard Donner version.
im definitely gonna get this....unloading some of my sd dvds to fund a very busy holiday hd buying spree.....
The artwork means nothing, getting this cut of the movie is a Superman fan's dream come true. I personally never thought it was going to happen, now if we could only convince David Lynch to revisit a little sci-fi movie he worked on circa '83
I like the art also, nice and simple. This is the best Superman IMO.

I agree! It's all about the dream that has finally come ture inside that case that matters. I can not wait to see this cut of the movie.

Although, it would have been cool to have Donner giving the finger to Salkind on the cover.
I have the televised ABC verison of "The Donner Cut" recorded on my old BETAMAX machine. I guess I can finally retire it. :)
I wouldn't care if the cover were a brown paper bag with "Superman II" written across it in crayon, I am just too excited to have this in ANY format let alone HD-DVD!!!
