Shouldn't this thread be retitled "Supernatural on CW"?

I'm looking forward to this tonight.

But I'm backward from everyone else here since due to signal problems I can't always reliably record the WB/CW. So I'll be watching Smallville/Supernatural live tonight and let my computer record any competition.

That would make a bit more sense. Don't you have the ability to rename topics, Fred?
Tonight's episode did not disappoint. Again, the writing on this show has been surprisingly good. The brothers have both grown well into their rolls, and their father had an incredibly difficult...

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show) ...decision to make. I had a feeling that he was summoning the demon to make a deal to save Dean. What a choice for a father to make, giving up the gun more so than his own life.

The only part of the show that I would have changed was the shouting they were doing in the hospital. You don't want to be screaming about demons and killing while you're in that situation. A stern and hushed tone would have been more believable.
Of all the sci-fi/fantasy shows that premiered last season, I would never have guessed that this would be the best and that it would be around for a second season. I really hope that this show can find enough of an audience to see it continue. The competition is really tough and it'll be an uphill battle.

Did you all feel your subwoofers kick in during the 'reaper' scenes? COOL!! :D
fantastic season opener...easily the best episode of the series thus far. The tone is MUCH darker than it was last season, and that's saying something.

Anyone else think that Dean will have some after effects from his short trip to the other side?

Yeah, there was plenty of low-frequency sound in tonight's episode. I'd like to see them use sound more and more to add to the creepy feeling of the show.

Not being able to see these eps in HD is killing me.

Supernatural has eclipsed Smallville for me. I look forward to its hour much more than SM. Have ever since the middle of last season.

Putting the S1 finale together with the S2 premiere, and that's probly the best 2-hour period of TV I've ever witnessed. (but I'm not a big prime-time TV watcher either)
Great episode. This has become my favorite show on TV. Hell, the soundtrack alone makes it worth watching :D
Yes a great epiosde. Just wish the dad's life was not part of the deal...

Hey...given the nature of the show, we may not be quite done with Dad just yet...

(From Marc Berman’s Friday, September 29, 2006, Programming Insider column at Mediaweek.com )

“…Although the second-season premiere of the CW’s Supernatural also came down quite a bit from one year earlier, retention out of lead-in Smallville of 79 percent in the overnights, 76 percent in total viewers and 73 percent among adults 18-49 was not too bad given that the competition was Grey’s Anatomy and CSI. Take a look:

Supernatural – season premiere

Thursday 9/28/06 – 9 p.m.

Overnights: 3.0/ 4 (#4)

Viewers: 3.81 million (#5);

A18-49: 1.6/ 4 (#4)

Tuesday 9/13/05 – 9 p.m.

Overnights: 4.3/ 6 (#4);

Viewers: 5.69 million (#4)

A18-49: 2.5/ 6 (#3)

Percent Change:

Overnights: -30

Viewers: -33

A18-49: -36….â€

...and if the reaper isn't properly paid, you get repossessed?

Anyway, agree with all the comments. Great episode and at least to me, the PQ seems better this year for some reason.

The actor playing the dad has landed the lead on a new series by the gal that created Gray's Anatomy. He made an impact on the female demographic as Denny on that show.

I figured they'd kill him off, just didn't think they'd do it in the first bleeping episode lol.

Actually, I was surprised they didn't kill him last season. I was just kind of getting used to the new family dynamic, and now he's out of the picture.

I was much less bothered by his death, than I was with his making a deal with the demon. I know that his son's life was hanging in the balance, but tossing aside his principles by bargaining with that demon was a little weak.

Can't wait to watch the time-shifted new episode tonight on my HR10-250 (right after the live airing ends), spoilers and whatnot look interesting.
Hi,

I live in the Orlando, Florida area. I'm wondering if anyone is having problems watching Supernatural on CW's HD channel. (1180 in my area) I have a 50" lcos tv and every channel and HD program works great... and then supernatural comes on thursday at 9 p.m. ONLY this show for one hour on the HD channel has weird audio/video pause/distortion enough to make it unwatchable. The picture freezes every couple of seconds, knocking the audio out and then it juts back in.

Does anyone know how the hell only the ONE program I really want to watch and record in HD via my HD-DVR, is having this problem? Bright house is my provider. Is it their fault? I dont understand tv technology well enough to understand how every other channel and program works fine except for Supernatural. I hate having a nice tv built for HD content and having to watch it in 4:3 aspect ratio with vertical bars and crap quality.

thanks for any help,

~Matt
