Superwide on Optoma 700 and HD 65

Hi folks just got a Optoma 700x and a 120" primebuy screen I love this to bits on my WDTV media player only thing is I cant seem to get superwide to work properly - on 1.85 movies I get the bars as expected but on 2.35 movies it just stays the same size. Anyone got any ideas as its the same as the hd65?

On my HD65 it didn't always work on auto, so I set superwide to ON and it shoots everything, 1.85 to 2.4, to 2.01.
