I am a month or so away from finishing my basement. It is roughly 2200 sq ft. the theater room is going to be roughly 17 x 28 with 8 ft ceilings. my neighbor owns a construction company that does buildings... I can get suppress panels for 4 dollars a sheet for 1/2, 5 dollars for 5/8, and 7 dollars for 1 in... at this price I can afford to double up. my plan was to staggered stud the walls use fiberglass ins. mass loaded vinyl then the suppress panels. can someone offer some insight on the best set up for the ceilings and the walls of the theater room using suppress. Is it worth doubling up or should I go 1in on walls and ceilings and be done. the entire basement is going to be for loud music and get togethers. I also like to blow my ears out in the theater room. green glue is out of the question for me. I am donating organs as it is just for the flooring in the basement. thanks for the help
