Is it possible for a power surge to damage the digital tuner in my JVC 52G887 HD-ila? A few days ago i went and bought a new amplified antenna it seemed to work pretty well. Then I turn my TV on one day and I can't get anything on the digital tuner. No HD, no digital channels, nothing (Except for the box that says "No Program"). The analog over the air and every other device I have connected still work as usual.

Just to make sure it wasn't the new antenna, I hooked up my old rabbit ears that i used before i bought the amplified antenna and the same result (No digital or HD and analog works fine). The only thing I can think of is that the digital tuner itself is damaged maybe by a power surge if this is even possible. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

That seems very strange as usually most TVs have a single chip tuner (NTSC/ASTC/QAM) and it's an all or nothing situation. Do you have any kind cable service (even cable Internet) to see if the QAM tuner works? Did you try doing another scan?

I did another scan and still got nothing. I forgot about hooking my cable directly to the TV but i just tried it and got the same result after another scan.

Don't know if this would help pinpoint the problem but a couple of weeks ago the channel that I received the strongest signal from just stopped coming in at all.
