Sorry if this is the wrong place just don't see any folders covering this listed.

Monster i'm sure is way over priced for what it does so what would work for a HDTV? What joule rating should i be looking for to protect HDTV and Portable DVD player? My HDTV only cost $198.00 and is 1400x900 and the giants game sure looked good even on rabbit ears.

3750 joules and it isolates feedback from components. I have 5 of them and I haven't found anything better for the money. I try to stay away from batteries since they never seem to last more than 2 years.

very good option if dagger666 wishes to spend the extra $$; has spare coaxial inputs/outputs plus line filter and phone line protection (satellite in/out).

Tripp-Lite is rated right up there w/ APCC and possibly Panamax.

I don't see anything written about HDTV / EMI / RFI / Noise Filtering. This is a very confussing subject, you don't know which is better until..... I know my tv gets interferance when my portable dvd player is charging so could this be power line or something else. I want to stay under $50

Monster Cable MP HTS850 Home Theater PowerCenter
http://www.amazon.com/Monster-MP-HTS.../dp/B00006343O

$64.00

wikipedia.com good source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electro...c_interference (note Interference to Consumer Device)

Last Ethek selection is ~60 w/ shipping .. less than MC/MP HTS850 though more than ur 50 limit.

edit: MC/MP HTS850 good choice also but its quoted at linked site for ~68.

The noise filtering is a clouded feature. I know both of the tripp-lites I linked have it. I don't think the one you linked has the filters. The ISOBAR series are the for-sure products that have RFI reduction.

how many plugs does a HTS take? The tv takes one and my portable dvd player take one so what would a HTS out of the box take? Do i really need one with phone support, does it come into a HTS. I guess it might and this is just for a

Most full home theatre system (HTS) setups require ~ 6 plugs: 1 for TV, 1 for Receiver, 1 for DVD player, 1 for set-top box (STB) and/or 1 satellite DVR box, 1 for computer, 1 for fan, 1 for lava lamp, 1 spare for whatever.

Phone filtering is necessary if ordering videos off Satellite or thru Cable box. Lightning can hit these lines also and route themselves thru yr whole System.

well right now i have neither, cable or satellite. really they need to be hooked to a phone line, humm. Here on long island we don't get a lot of lightning strikes and the power goes out in the summer maybe once a season.

Phone line isn't necessary; you can still order by calling .. they just normally charge a ~$2 service charge per movie. W/ phone line, its done w/o human involvement thru satellite/cable automatically.

As far as not having this or that .. get what you need, brown outs or surges happen; buy whatever you think you need.
