Is there anyone who can help me with speaker placement in my family room. It is a little odd of a set up as far as the furniture arrangement goese. I can work with someone off line and provide a rough sketch of the layout, or just post it here if this is a better route. I don't have much equipment now, but if it looks like it can be done, I will upgrade. Is anyone willing to help? Thank you in advance.

I'd go ahead and post a rough sketch right here! Also, gives us some details about what kind of equipment you have now, your listening preferences (music, home theater, both...), and performance expectations (ultimate goal with the system you've maybe got in mind)?
