surround sound speakers... what do you recommend?

I am looking to get some feedback from you experts on my home theater setup, specifically I want to add surround sound speakers. I use this setup for TV/DVD and Music.

My current setup:

1) Denon AVR 1602 Reciever

2) Dell 32†LCD HDTV

3) Klipsch RF Floor-standing speakers

4) Sharp DV-S1 DVD Player

5) XBOX

1) I would like to add two surround sound speakers to this setup. I am looking to put these behind my couch and somehow hang on the wall. I would prefer if these speakers were flat (like a picture frame) and not too big. Lastly, and since I am renting, I would prefer they not be put in the wall and instead need to be hung somehow - and I would like them not to be too big/noticeable. Suggestions?? Is it ok if I go with a brand other than Klipsch? Can I get speakers that don’t require any speaker wire and are somehow wireless? What models/brands do you suggest?

2) DVD Player –is this the best? Should I invest in a new one? When I bought it, it was fairly cheap and it seems to play the DVDs just fine. I also hear there are new High Def DVD players coming out soon??? What is the deal with this?

3) Sometimes when I watch TV (I have an HDTV box set from timewarner in NYC) the sound is delayed by like ¼ - ½ a second from the picture. This happens every now and then I notice… why?? How can I fix this?

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

The best way to go is matching the same brand of speakers all around for a seamless soundfield, klipsch makes some surrounds that are fairly small and are wall mountable and can be setup properly, another option is to sell the speakers you have now on craiglist or ebay and start fresh depending on your budget.

I mean if you want your system to sound good that's the best way to go.
Agree look to klispch for the surrounds.

You DVD player isn't really considered top end, but on a 32" TV, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Yes there are HD and Blue Ray DVD players coming out. The first of the HD-DVD player has already hit the shelves. There is a ton of information in their respective forums.

The delay can only be corrected if your receiver has a lip sync function. Not sure if yours does, if not, you will need a new receiver to correct it.
Polk Audio FXi3's or FXi5's.

Since you have Klipsch RF mains, I would recommend Klipsch RS surround speakers. Look here for their current offerings:

I have a pair of RS25's. They are designed for wall-mounting with keyholes on the back; you can hang them very easily with a drywall anchors. Forget about wireless; Acoustic Reserch makes flat white speaker cable which is relatively unobtrusive for runs along the baseboard and up the wall.
