Surround speaker placement

I just wanted to ask if there is any good links explaining surround speaker placement, or if you have any input I'll appreciate it.


I know that the front system should be placed at an equal distance from the viewer but how about the surround speakers.

I use a Dolby Digital receiver and all the speakers are direct speakers (in other words not bi or di-polar).
