I've also been looking for ceiling mounted speakers of the type you describe. The Martin Logan ribbon speakers I'm considering would cost you more than planned, though. The MLs look great in a horizontal ceiling mount and come with a hinged mounting bracket. The 2-way Vignette is $649 each, mating a ribbon tweeter with dual 4" aluminum mid/bass drivers. The step-up Fresco is a 3-way, which has both high freq and midrange ribbons, and is $995 each. I haven't heard the Vignette, but I like the Fresco a lot. (Reviews are positive as well.)
The Gallo Due is supposed to have a unique tweeter with an especially clear, open sound, but I think they're still $600 a piece.
Stepping down to more conventional surrounds, there are lots of options -- but I'm not sure how well they would blend with your Maggies. Some people seem to like the Mirage Omnisat series, but I've never heard them. Klipsch makes a lot of models of surrounds, and one of them may sound good to you.
Good luck!
