Setting up a new 7.1 HT and had a friend offer me his Yamaha NS-777 for free. So I jumped on it. Thought it would be a good idea to match these with the Yamaha NS-C444. But what about the surrounds? What should I consider in this decision? Recommendations? Probably want to stay around $250 per pair. Recommendations for a sub would also be nice. Budget around $250 for that as well. A Denon 3313 will drive it all.

Thanks in advance for the help. Kind of overwhelmed with all the options.

If the budget is tight I would skip the surrounds for now and put more money into the sub, such as the SVS PB1000 $500, Rythmik LV12 for $590, SVS PC12NSD for $699 or $649 outlet.

Maybe do a 5.1 with a pair of speakers for $100 and put the rest into the sub.

Something like these, last year's model

Or if you want all Yamaha

Many other choices too.
