For some odd reason My 5040 quit working....... at least thats what I thought! I would just get a blank screen.

Then I tried removing the S-vid cable and switched to the yellow video cable, and it displays fine, and works fine. I tried reconnecting the S-Vid cable, but still nothing.

We did have a very brief power outage yesterday, but don't know if that had any effect. We have had outages before with no effect to the RePlay!

Any ideas why the S-vid output would suddenly quit working?

Thanks,

WJ:confused:

Are you sure it's not something like your TV "forgot" (due to the power outages) that it's S-vid-IN was supposed to be active? (This behavior of having to be "told" what inputs to use might just be particular to the Loewe sets though)

Also, are you sure that the s-vid cable is good?

I know those sound like no-brainers, but offhand, that's all I can think of, since the s-vid out on the replay is always active and with the installed os, there's no way to turn it off (what the chipset is capable of that isn't being offered to us is a Jeff D question)

I may be off here, but I think you need to specify S-video in the Setup>Network and Input Settings menu? And I think it's only available on input 2.

If you lost power, you may need to re-set this.

...after re-reading this, I see your asking about the S-video OUT...so disregard this.

I think I've got it! rm -rf *.*, you were on to it, I have a Sony auto switcher that controls my a/v connections for the small monitor in the bedroom. I unplugged it, turned power off on all connected components, turned the switcher on, then one componet at a time. Now they all work again. I guess the switcher was confused, like it's owner
