SVS 3000 Micro with two big subs

1273 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Andres Chauta
I have a SVS 3000 Micro coming in today and I'm looking forward to see how it integrates with a HSU VTF-15H MK2 and a HSU VTF-3 MK5 HP.

Ideally if adding another sub I'd look to add another 15" HSU but the SVS fits perfectly into the only available spot because of it size.

I plan on using the minidsp and rew to calibrate and set a filter for the micro for those real low frequencies.

Anyone have any experience integrating a small sub into a setup with big subs? Is it even worth it? I figure it'll be fun to try to make it work and worse case I can send it back no risk.

I've got micro 3000s arriving as well.
I will also do some measurements and try integration with my 15" diy Dayton.
The Micros are not very "macho" and not popular around here but there is some interest.
What's cool about the micros is the location possibilities. For me, I can put these anywhere in room.
Looking forward to hearing about your experience.
Treat it as a mid-bass module and let the others do the heavy work and you've taken the strain off all of them. Should greatly reduce distortion.
Good luck.

This is primarily why I ordered it
Update for those interested:

The micro was returned as it didn’t really make any difference.

I did purchase on OfferUp an SVS PC-2000 and integrated that. Definitely feels like the bass became more dynamic. It’s closer to the seating position so it provides a little more of that tactile feel in my seat.

Also started using bass eq via ezbeq and that’s making a huge difference.
