I have a ultimate tv unit with a hu card and a uniden unit with a p4 card. Both accounts are still active. Could I swap the cards so when 3.7 comes to my area I can get the download? Would this mess up the cards in any way? Thanks for any help. Oh yeah, I'm a newbie.

Hi,


You will not be able to "swap" cards so the UTV can get the download...


Each Access Card is "Married" to the reciever it is first put into...


You can't share them with another reciever.


If you leave the P3 (HU) card in the UTV, it may or may not update to 3.7...


Anyone want to comment on 3.7 and P4 vs P3 in practice?


If you want to be certain that it will take the upgrade you can request a P4 from DTV to upgrade your old HU Card.

I tried to get a p4 card from Pegasus (they suck!!!!!!) and they would not send me one. They did graciously offer to overnight me a card if the upgrade stopped my service for some reason. Apparently I have to suffer a night of no programming to receive any kind of service from them. ( did I mention they suck?) Oh well, I was hoping a swap would work, but nothing's ever that easy.

I called pegasus last night and got connected with the Access card support. The CSR did not know anything about the UTV upgraded and the need for the P4 card, but her supervisor did. The supervisor told the CSR that they had to ship one to me. Should be here in a couple of days, but they are want me to ship the P3 back to them otherwise they will charge me $90.


Looking forward to 3.7 now. Nothing worse then the phone ringing and you pause the show and the phone call lasts a while and you would like to be able to just hit record and not lose the paused time.
