Alright, please don't flame. I realize there is already a Verizon FIOS thread, but the thing is 501 pages long!!! If there is a sticky or FAQ, I would appreciate a link.
Otherwise, can anyone help me by hopefully answering these easy questions. I've looked all over the Verizon website and I can't find answers to these questions:
(1) The cable companies (Cox, Comcast, etc.) allow you to hook up cable directly to your HDTV, without the STB, and you can get all the analog or SD cable stations such as (Disney, USA, SyFy, Discovery, etc...) I only want the STB (with all the HD) content on the main HDTV in the family room. I want to just get the SD cable channels in the kitchen, kid's rooms, etc... Will FIOS allow this work like cable?
(2) This piggbacks on the first question. I realize that FIOS requires installing a new FIOS central box somewhere in the house or garage. Will it require new cable drills for every room I want have it in or can it connect to coaxial cables that are already installed with my current Cox cable setup?
(3) I already have secure Wireless-N 5 GHz network setup in my house. Must I use the wireless router they provide or can I continue to use my Cisco wireless router?
Appreciate any help or advice I can get before deciding to switch.
