ive been using longdvd's setting on my 50a2000 and notice that black bars on widescreen movies dont really look that black. almost like they are slightly backlit. my friend just bought an 55a2000 and his bars look dark. mind you he is using the standard setting. i tried mine on standard and it doesnt seem to help. any ideas? also is there anyway to download new firmware to fix/update features? i cant seem to find any place to download them to a usb key to update. i think i have a august build while my friends has a january 07 build

You will get better result if you post in the owner's thread for the A2000 models.

Get yourself a calibration DVD such as AVIA or DVE to properly adjust your contrast and brightness settings.
