Syntax Olevia 37" question about Comcast HD & DVI connection...

251 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  martyj19
I have a Syntax Olevia 37" HVE model and a DVR HD Comcast cable box hooked into it through DVI. When I am watching a regular 4:3 signal pic there are lines at the top of the pic that are a mix of black & white. Almost timecode looking in some ways.

If I hook it up through component they go away. But is there anything I can do so I can make better use of the DVI connection?

Any help or anyone else experience this same thing? This is a great TV other then this problem. I am very pleased with it and how it displays HD content especially when using my Xbox 360 on it.

The lines are part of the signal. It is "normal". A lot of people ask about this. If your TV has controls to adjust your picture position or size, you may be able to push them off the screen.
