I've got an NEC 50MP1 I'm trying to drive at native resolution from a geforce-based HTPC under win2k. I've gotten it working at 1360x768 60Hz with powerstrip, but there is noticable flicker, particularly on text. Further, when I view a test pattern such as:
http://marky.com/misc/testpatterns/D...ern_ByMark.bmp

there is clear banding, and no amount of twiddling with the picture controls makes it go away.

Any thoughts? Could I not be bypassing the scaler? Should I try a different refresh rate? DVI instead of VGA?

It took some fiddling but I managed to get DVI going at 1360x768 on my NEC 50MP1.

The picture is somewhat sharper and more stable with DVI than with analog, but I still see moire patterning, and now the picture is cut off slightly on the right side.

Perhaps this is due to the panel's native resolution being 1366x768.

Guess I should play with PowerStrip some more.

Edit: After fiddling with PowerStrip some more, I locked in DVI at 1360x768 with 1:1. No more moire! :D

Here are my powerstrip settings:

Pixel clock: 85.510 mhz.

Horizontal Geometry

Scan rate: 47.718 mhz

Active: 1360 pixels (15.905 us)

Front Porch: 376 pixels (4.397us)

Sync Width: 8 pixels (0.094 us)

Back porch: 48 pixels (0.561 us)

Total: 1792 pixels (20.957 us)

Vertical Geometry

Refresh Rate: 59.872 hz

Active: 768 lines (16.095 ms)

Front porch: 25 lines (0.524 ms)

Sync Width: 1 lines (0.021 ms)

Back porch: 3 lines (0.063 ms)

Total: 797 lines (16.702 ms)

Your milage may vary.
