This is not a ReplayTV question, per se, but I thought I'd ask it here only because I've seen a number of posts here from folks with expertise with the Scientific Atlanta Explorer box that is used with this service, so I thought I'd ask here. If there's another forum that would be better to post in (and I'd love to find a forum for T/W NYC users), let me know. Anyway, here goes:
Last Saturday, I upgraded 3 sets to T/W NYC's new digital service. One of the 3 sets works perfectly. On the second set, I get most of the Basic and Standard service channels, but most channels with numbers over 100 produce a black screen. Also whenever you tune to any non-basic channel, the image is really broken up into a mosaic of square blocks that paints itself in about 10 seconds (after which the image looks fine). On the third set, all I get are the basic channels and everything else is black. Also, on both sets, I occasionally lose video altogether and get a blank magenta screen with audio (this is fixed by rebooting the SA box). T/W has said that they will send a signal to the box to reset it, but that hasn't worked. I've also rebooted and unplugged the boxes, but that doesn't work either. So they've scheduled a service call, but, because I need an evening appointment, I can't get one until late next week. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can try in the interim?
