Hello all. I've currently just purchased 2 monitor 70s cs2 center, bic pl200 and monitor 40 rears. I'm looking to get into a new receiver and can't decide. Here's what I'm looking for.

Great music quality over movie sound

Good picture quality

7.1 capabilities

A little bit of future proofing for upgrades in speakers but not necessarily 4k.

Stuck between

open box denon 3313 with 3 year warranty for $525

Used Pioneer sc 35 with no warranty for about $400

Brand new pioneer sc 63 for $575

Brand new pioneer sc 71 for $660

Or something different y'all suggest??

In general get the AVR with the highest level of Audyssey for the price and then exploit it. This is what I did the last time I bought an AVR and it worked out for me.

Not sure how you expect an avr to be future proofing your speaker selection?

Pick an avr that has the features you need. They're not going to have "great music quality over movie sound" or great movie sound over music sound or whatever....the mechanics of accurately reproducing sound encompasses both music and movies (how many movies do you know that don't have music? If anything music is better presented in movie soundtracks).

I like Audyssey in an avr also....and fwiw my last pioneer died prematurely after warranty expired.

the Denon AVR 3313 is the best deal out of those...you cant go wrong with the 3 year warranty and that is a quality receiver...
