My neighbor had tickets to the Braves-Dodgers game tonight and couldn't go, so he passed them on to me. Although I'm somewhat of a fan (grew up in in New York, we'll leave it at that) since I've been in Atlanta 11 years now. I couldn't give these tickets up when I heard so much about them. My son and I just got back.

What I need to figure out is how I can steal this Mitsubishi and get it in my basement or put it in the backyard for a "Movie Under the Stars". This thing was unbelievable. See, always thinking AVS even when I'm out on a hot summer night with the kid.

And yeah, the seats were damn good too. I owe this guy a bottle of Crown or something! We were seven rows up on the 1st base line about 10 feet off home plate. We had a bat go over us and another bat ended up 4 seats down in the same row. Here's a shot from the seats.

Oh yeah, I didn't notice any screen door effect, either.

To heck with the TV or Camera, since when did baseball have cheerleaders (or whatever those are in short-shorts) maybe it's just me but I'll take that over some stupid Moose anyday (Seattle native.)

It does look like a nice camera though, and a nice screen, probably draws a little more power than a projector, but sometimes you just gotta make sacrafices.

Brian, I purposely slipped the one in there of the Braves girls. They look even better in person! That's the nice thing about the Braves home games, lots of hotties.

The camera is actually a few years old, its a Kodak DX4900. Here is a good a site with good info on it: Kodak Easyshare DX4900 .

I think I paid about 399.00 for it, but seems they'vecome down in price in alot in the last few years:

I've been pretty happy with it and its pretty small.

Ahhhh, that TV is no good. It's 4:3 and not 16:9. Movies would look like crap with those black bars on the top and bottom. Who would want that? You can probably find it on close-out real cheep somewhere.

:) :)

(Edit: actually, it looks square to me. wierd.)

I forgot the cost of this puppy, but here's a press release with some of the specs:

The world's largest outdoor high-definition display will entertain Atlanta Braves fans at the newly renovated Turner Field this season. The 5,600 square-foot Mitsubishi Electric-made screen is 71 feet tall and 79 feet wide, weighs 50 tons and has more than five million LED lights.

...

The new display consists of 266 panels that each contains 20 lighting units, resulting in a screen with nearly 5,200,000 LED (light emitting diode) modules that can faithfully reproduce one billion colors, and be clearly seen from almost any viewing angle. The 400,000 watt screen, which will be cooled by 10 fans that move 60,000 cubic feet of air per minute, can be accessed for service via a nine-tiered catwalk behind the display. The board has been recognized by Guinness Book of World Records as the largest outdoor high definition display in the world.

It's not the camera, it's how you use it...

The screen looks very cool... I wonder if it costs more without the ads on the sides...

Wait, we may have stumbled on to something here. I'm willing to place ads on either side of my screen at home for any sponsors that want to foot the bill for equipment costs :D

About both players named Jones, there are 2 Jones on the Braves: Andrew Jones and "Chipper" Jones. Not a cut and paste error :)
